About the Event

AAU CyberX Day is a flagship cybersecurity event organized by Al Ain University (AAU), designed to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and government in the field of cybersecurity and digital resilience. The event aims to raise cybersecurity awareness, foster innovation, and empower students with practical knowledge and real-world skills aligned with current and future cyber threats.

The event brings together cybersecurity experts, government representatives, industry leaders, academics, and students in a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge exchange and professional development.

Objectives:

1. Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices among students and the academic community.

2. Expose students to real-world cyber threats, attack techniques, and defense strategies.

 Capture The Flag (CTF) Competition
A hands-on cybersecurity challenge where students test their skills in areas such as penetration testing, cryptography, digital forensics, reverse engineering, and incident response.

 Cybersecurity Exhibitions & Demonstrations
Live demonstrations and technical showcases by students, faculty, and industry partners highlighting tools, research projects, and cybersecurity solutions.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Qutaibah Althebyan
Dean College of Engineering at Al Ain University
He joined Al Ain University in January 2018. Prior to joining Al Ain University, he has been in the Software Engineering Department at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) since August 2008. He serves as a reviewer for numerous journals and conferences.
Prof. Omar Alfandi
Dean College of Technological Innovation at Zayed University
Professor Alfandi was also working package leader of EU DAIDALOS II in the 6th framework project. He published numerous articles on Authentication Framework for 4G Communication Systems, Future Internet and Trust and Reputation Systems. 
Dr. Akram Awad
Managing Director & Partner at Boston Consulting Group
Dr. Akram Awad is an expert on artificial intelligence, big data and analytics, digital transformation, and innovation management; and has worked with clients from around the world, primarily in the public sector and technology, media, and telecom.
