About the Symposium

The College of Pharmacy is pleased to organize our fourth AAU Health and Biomedical Postgraduate Symposium at Al Ain University. This transformative experience will offer a distinguished platform for postgraduate and final-year undergraduate students to present their research. The symposium promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, drives innovation, and supports regional and international academic exchange among emerging scholars in clinical pharmacy, pharmacology, drug design, pharmaceutical technology, biomedical sciences, nutrition, food science, and public health.

Symposium History

2023 – First Edition
Held at the Al Ain University – Abu Dhabi Campus, the inaugural symposium brought together over 100 participants from institutions across the UAE. It established a student-centered platform for scientific exchange and research visibility.

2024 – Second Edition (hybrid)
The second edition attracted 179 participants, including international students attending virtually from national and international universities. This edition introduced the Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition and featured engaging poster sessions and expert-led panels, reinforcing its growing global academic presence.

2025 – Third Edition
With over 150 abstract submissions from 60 universities across the GCC, MENA region, and beyond, the third edition expanded in scope. It featured seven thematic categories, increased faculty engagement, and strengthened institutional collaboration through cross-disciplinary networking.

Symposium Highlights

• Mentorship Café connecting students with experienced researchers and academic leaders

Thematic Topics

Participants are invited to submit abstracts under the following categories:

• Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice
• Pharmacology and Molecular Therapeutics
• Drug Design and Discovery
• Pharmaceutical Technology
• Biomedical Sciences
• Nutrition and Food Science
• Public Health

Awards will be presented to the top three student submissions in each track.

Important Dates

• Abstract Submission and Registration Deadline: November 15, 2025
• Notification of Acceptance: December 1, 2025
• Symposium Date: 29 January 2026

Eligibility

The symposium is open to:

• Master’s and PhD students enrolled at accredited academic institutions (UAE and international)
• Final-year undergraduate students who have completed a capstone or research project

Participation Format

The symposium will be held in a hybrid format:

• UAE-based participants are expected to attend in person
• International participants may choose to attend either in person or virtually
