This program is designed to help teams of 3 to 5 pharmacy faculty members and administrators from a university work together to evaluate their experiential education program. Expert faculty will lead discussions and activities to assist you in developing and evaluating your experiential education program. Sessions will focus on the importance, assessment and best practice of experiential education. In addition, participants will be invited to present posters to allow faculty members in the region to present their experiences with experiential education.

Title: Why is Experiential Learning Critical to Contemporary Education?
Description: The first session will define experiential learning and provide insight into why it is significant in contemporary pharmacy education. The speaker will emphasize the importance of aligning experiential education with the curriculum utilizing curricular mapping and progression requirements.
Title: What Do You Hope Learners Will Learn?
Description: During session two, the speaker will discuss learning outcomes in the experiential education curriculum; from identifying activities students complete to enable them to meet the learning outcomes, to developing an assessment process for these activities.
Title: Who Are Your Partners? A Focus on Practice Sites, Preceptors, and Students
Description: Session three focuses upon a process for identifying and recruiting quality practice sites and preceptors. The speaker will address how to develop strategies for training and maintaining continued preceptor participation.
Title: A Focus on Assessment and Strategic Planning. How Will You Know When You Have Achieved Your Vision?
Description: A discussion of quality improvement strategies used to evaluate program and individual performance will be the focus of session four. The importance of strategic planning for matching responsibilities with team member strengths and motivation will also be covered by the speaker. This session will lay the ground work for you to address over the coming year and our advanced 2019 workshop.
